Believe in fate? Like something comes into your life amid a crisis making it seem less of a crisis and more like an opportunity to do better. Well, this book has been the same as me. It came to me at a time when I really needed someone to tell me I was not wrong for doing what I did. I was not selfish for leaving with no explanation. It became the best advice someone ever gave to me.
This book is about surviving an abusive relationship. No, it is not a guide to how to get out of an abusive relationship. Nor is it a description of what happens in it. It is much more than that. It makes us feel every thought that goes inside the victim and the victimizer. Why do we stay in such a relationship when we have the option to leave? You see, we create a trap for yourself saying we love them and are an illusion that they love us and convince ourselves by saying it was just a moment of anger, a slip of hand until it becomes a daily scenario. We all have limits but we trap ourselves by raising our limits higher each time that limit is crossed.
I cried at how things turned out to be. It just broke my heart. Even the author didn't want to write it the way it was written but the reality had to be faced. Although in the end, I did a little happy dance alone at how the story ends with two happy souls, HER and HIM HER DAUGHTER. It ended with them.
